A report by Ben Morrish on the recent news from Google that they are soon to unveil a micropayment system based on Google Checkout, and the possible impact of such systems on the future of the web. In this episode of WarpTalk Ben Morrish explores how this could change the internet and details how the system could work.
The main question you need to ask yourself is would you rather pay a small amount (something like 1/10 of a cent per page view) if it meant you did not have to see advertising on websites?
From a publishers perspective it seems great as they would be able to earn from every visitor rather than earning only from those select visitors who felt inclined to click on advertisements.
So, really it seems like the publishers could take a good revenue and improve the quality of their site by removing ads.

Great information, Ben. I hope to hear more about this in the coming months.I think micro-payments can be what saves the newspaper industry. I can even see it as a way of preventing SPAM and DDOS attacks. Whew, what's there not to love? Oh yeah, we have to pay for it. At least the payments are micro!
